The Conservancy (TNC) is seeking to recruit

Deputy Director Indonesia Forest Program

A proven administrator as Deputy Director to oversee and facilitate the implementation of the Conservancy’s strategic plan forest conservation, under the direction the Forest Program Director. The Deputy Director will manage daily operations and ensure a high degree of staff and partner coordination and productivity, working from The Nature Conservancy’s office in Jakarta.

The Deputy Director will provide day-to-day program management, facilitate the efforts of program staff and partners, mentor program managers, monitor progress on program goals, and initiate corrective actions to ensure a coordinated and effective forest conservation program, in line with TNC’s strategic plan. The Deputy Director also collaborates with and participates on TNC-wide task forces and working groups. The Deputy Director facilitates the meetings of the Senior Management Team, the decision making body for the coordinated Forest Program.

Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in business, law or science, at least seven years relevant experience, including working at a senior level. Candidates should be fluency in written and spoken English is required as is a good command of Bahasa Indonesia.

Applicants must have a PHD or equivalent in Tropical Forrest Ecology, Terrestrial Ecosystem and Landscape Ecology, Conservation Biology or related discipline and at least five yeas experience working in field settings in the tropics as a researcher or conservation planner. Candidates and should be fluency in written and spoken English is required as is a good command of Bahasa Indonesia.
