G-Resources is an Asia-Pacific gold company, based and listed in Hong Kong, and is operating the Martabe Gold Mine in North Sumatera. The open cut mine, with an average strip ratio of less than 1.4:1, and a conventional processing circuit incorporating jaw crushing, SAG and ball milling and CIL, processes in excess of 4.5mtpa to produce greater than 250,000 ounces of gold and 3 million ounces of silver annually. To strengthen the existing management team and to ensure the achievement of the company objectives, the Martabe Gold Mine is looking for candidate to fill the role:

MECHANICAL PLANT FITTER (PRO 0532)

This position will be based at Martabe site and Processing Department, working on schedule 4 weeks on; 2 weeks off and reports directly to Mechanical Supervisor.

The role of the Process Plant – Mechanical Fitter is to perform hands-on maintenance of mechanical equipment in the Process Plant and ancillary infrastructure and plant as directed by the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisors.

  • Perform PM Services, diagnostics, inspections, installations and repairs on equipment including but not limited to:
    • Gearbox-box installation and alignment
    • Hydraulic systems and associated components
    • Pneumatic systems
    • Slurry and sump pumps
    • Reagent pumps
    • Water pumps
    • Lifting equipment
    • Conveyors / Material handling equipment
    • Agitators
    • Compressors
    • Clarifier
    • Blowers and fans
    • Cone and Jaw crushers
    • Installation of new equipment
    • Decommissioning of old equipment
    • Alignment of drive trains
    • Replacement of all components as directed (valves pipelines etc.)
    • Grinding mills
    • Vibrating feeders and screens
  • Be proactive in working safely and promoting safe work practices
  • Remove and report hazards, and promptly report all incidents and accident using PTAR system
  • Understand PTARs Golden Rules
  • Be environmentally responsible in all aspects of work including waste disposal.
  • Maintain a clean working environment, free from hazards by performing proper job and workplace housekeeping
  • Apply correct manual handling techniques, isolation /tag out, working at heights and confined space practices and procedures
  • Maintain PTAR vehicles, tools and equipment in a clean, safe and serviceable condition at all times reporting any loss or damage immediately
  • Use PTAR maintenance software package to record work done and history notes
  • Develop Take 5s and JSHA as required for all work you perform before the work is commenced

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications:

  1. Mechanical Fitter Trades Qualification by a recognized institution or approved Apprenticeship with Mechanical Fitting qualifications.
  2. Experience in similar position within the mining, oil & gas or similar heavy industrial environment.
  3. A basic understanding of Indonesian mines related legislation, laws and acts
  4. Must have specialized in fixed plant maintenance along with timely scheduled maintenance component change out programs.
  5. Ability to fault find and trouble shoot to solve issues with mining process equipment.
  6. Able to read P&IDs, drawings procedures, work instructions along with following these step by step.
  7. Process plant equipment rebuilds experience.
  8. First-Aid qualifications.
  9. Possess a valid recognized Drivers license.
  10. Reasonable written English Language communications skills
  11. Specialist training in process plant equipment.
  12. Prior work experience working in a modern CIL Gold Plants
  13. Basic understanding of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  14. The ability to prioritize workload and work effectively under pressure.
