Research Officer for Early Childhood Education and Development

AusAID and several universities in Australia are working together to develop the capacity of Indonesian early career academics in the area of Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED). These individuals will be responsible for analytical work and survey supervision related to an impact evaluation of the Early Childhood Education and Development project currently being implemented by the Ministry of National Education (MONE) and funded by a loan from the World Bank.

Candidates should meet the following selection criteria:

  • Affiliation with Indonesian Research University at faculty with focus on ECED (candidates must be lecturers or teaching assistants)
  • Undertaking last year or completed Masters Degree in public health, psychology, economics, education, biostatistics, epidemiology or related field.
  • Demonstrated work relating to ECED, and demonstrated potential for conducting ECED research
  • Familiarity with household survey data
  • Experience using statistical software such as STATA, SPSS, etc.
  • Willingness to travel across Indonesia and to Australia supervising fieldwork and attending training

Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Indonesian
The research officer will be expected to be involved for three years, through 2011. The position is based in Indonesia. Interested candidates should send CV and a writing sample (of ECED research, in English) to Rima Prama Artha (rartha@worldbank.orq) no later than 25 April 2009
