SENIOR FIELD ENGINEER CIVIL and EARTHWORK
(Based in Sorowako, South Sulawesi, Indonesia)
Reports To: Site Manager or their delegate
Supervises/Number of Direct Reports: May supervise part of a discipline team
General scope and skills
- Field verification include taking basic measurements to support main design office for a major brownfield mining expansion
- Able to engineer and sketch solutions and communicate these to the site contractors or the main design office
- Able to lead operations/constructions and other site personnel to solutions and communicate these with main design office
- Obtain details, from files and actual field, to feed to engineering office to prepare detail design for new facilities, relocation of equipment, utility routing, an demolition.
- Liaison with Owner and project site personnel to obtain feedback on head office drawings and prepare sketches
- Ability to act independently deal with contractors, resolve design problems and provide design solutions in the field
- Good communication skills, Bahasa Indonesian preferred.
- Basic computer skills
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
- A recognized engineering degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent
- Postgraduate qualifications in the relevant discipline; management, project management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent will be a plus
WORKING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 15+ years of practical civil engineering
- Must have been involved in the detailed design / construction phase in mining (mineral and metal project)
- Experience in and with civil/earthwork design with advance understanding in sheet piling and H piling, bulk earthwork, compaction testing, survey and topography, large equipment foundations, batch plant operation, mining and plant roads.
