LOCAL SECURITY ASSISTANT (LSA) (FOR INDONESIAN NATIONALITY ONLY)

  • Familiarity with Police and Military administration would be an asset
  • Familiar with UN operations and procedures for Safety and Security.

  • Able to motivate others.
  • Holds a valid national driving license and more than 5 years of driving experience with a good record.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, communication and desk-top publishing skills; Ability to work in a team, meet management schedules and produce high quality results
  • Fluency in the working language (English), written and spoken are compulsory
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel (finance, inventory tables), Powerpoint, Access and internet applications are compulsory.
  • Familiar with electronic and communication devices: GPS, Satellite phone, Radio

  • Focuses on result for the client and responds positively to feedback
  • Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude
  • Remains calm, in control and good humored even under pressure

Recruitment Qualifications

Education:

  • Secondary education.  University Degree desirable, but it is not a requirement.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in security, preferably in the military or police context or related field of work. Prior experience with the UN system or an international NGO is desirable.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in the UN and national language of the duty station.

Other Skills and Requirements:

  • Knowledge of HF and VHF/UHF radio operation;
  • Experience in diplomatic security, protection and intelligence considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of host country safety codes;
  • Solid computers skills (MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint);
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel
  • Physically fit
