G-Resources is an Asia-Pacific gold company, based and listed in Hong Kong. It has acquired the Martabe Gold and Silver Project, located in North Sumatera, Indonesia. Martabe, with a resource base of 7.86 million ounces of gold and 73.48 million ounces of silver is G-Resources Groups core starter asset, around which a globally competitive, Asia-Pacific focused gold company will be built.

Martabe is targeting to commence production in the second quarter of 2012 at a rate of 250,000 ounces per annum of gold and 2-3 million ounces per annum of silver.

PT Agincourt Resources, a subsidiary company of G-Resources Group Ltd which operates Martabe is pleased to invite applications for the following roles:

Superintendent Mine Technical Services (MD 0427)

This position will be based at Martabe Mine Project with FIFO 4/2 weeks schedule and reports directly to the Mine Manager.
The main account-abilities of the role are to :

  • Provide expertise in the long-range, medium and short-term mine planning functions, maintain head grade and production requirements. Good communication skills within the various mine site departments
  • Provide assistance in the training and development of National Staff employees to ensure that they increase their core competencies, produce results suitable to management and to the efficient operation and development of Martabe, and continuously improve their capabilities and the quality of their work.
  • Analyse and assist in developing strategic plan, goals and directions for the LOM plan, to ensure that strategic goals and long-range planning goals are in alignment.

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

  1. Mining Engineering Graduated and POM and good communication and writing In English
  2. Various Mining Software sound knowledge and advanced computer skills (Microsoft suite and mining software)
  3. A relevant Engineering Degree with a minimum of 10 to 15 years experience in world class open pit metalliferous mining operations
  4. Strategic Mine Plan experience & Productivity / Business Improvement
  5. Thorough knowledge of Mine Planning, Grade Control & Practice
  6. Knowledge of Mine Mill and experienced in the management of mine technical functions.
  7. Strong people management skills and the ability to lead and develop an effective Technical services team and familiar with Government Mine reporting requirements

Geotechnical Engineer ( MD 0428)

This position will be based at Martabe site with FIFO schedule 4/2 weeks and reports directly to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer.
The main accountabilities of the role are to:

  • Promote and maintain high safety performance through personal commitment and application of safety policies and procedures
  • Assist in developing and maintaining structural and rock mass database and contribute towards continuous structural and rock mass data acquisition
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and monitoring of the pit, waste dump, and major infrastructures
  • Maintain regular geotechnical mapping, drilling, logging, and sampling as directed by Senior Geotechnical Engineer
  • Contribute towards developing and maintaining the Geotechnical monitoring programs for pit slope, waste dump, and main infrastructures of the mine.
  • Conduct regular Geotechnical Audits of the mining operations
  • Undertake project work as directed by the Senior Geotechnical Engineer.
  • Good written report skills and providing leadership and mentoring for geoetchnicians.

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering geology or mining or civil engineering.
  • 5 – 8 years experience in geotechnical engineering in mining industry.
  • Proficient in Geotechnical softwares, Surpac, Minesched, Mapinfo or Micromine.

Hydrogeologist ( MD 0429)

This position will be based in Martabe with FIFO schedule 4/2 weeks, and reports directly to the Superintendent Geotechnical and Hydrology. The role will involve the development of mine, infrastructure and safety reason in concern with other mining engineering staff. This position caries on through the project development and operation to facilitate the effective operations of mining through reliable system of Hydrology management.

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum bachelor degree in Hydrogeology or Geology.
  • Promote and maintain high safety performance through personal commitment and application of safety policies and procedures
  • Considerable experience and exposure in mine dewatering, groundwater production, contaminated site investigations, and Acid Mine Drainage.
  • Familiar with planning, installation, and monitoring of dewatering well and piezometer bores.
  • Conduct pit slope depressurisation program & groundwater investigations and project management
  • Databasing, Data analysis and interpretation and Site work and supervision
  • Groundwater and surface water modeling – developing conceptual and numerical models
  • Proficient with related hydrogeological software (SEEP/W, FEFLOW,etc.)
  • Closely liaison with other relevant departments (mine planning, mining operation, processing, project and environmental)
  • Minimum of 7 years working experience within hydrogeology aspect of active operating mines and Experience in a metalliferous mining operation environmental will be preferred.
