URGENTLY NEEDED

U.S. Embassy, Jakarta has a vacancy for Agricultural Specialist (FSN-55/2010), FSN-11* (Rp.261,605,169,-)  p.a Full performance starting salary) in the Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS). The core purpose of this position is to develop a high level of expertise in designated food and agricultural sectors. The incumbent is expected to possess an in-depth understanding of both Indonesian and U.S. agricultural production and trade policies and write a full range of comprehensive annual and voluntary commodity reports for public distribution with minimal supervision.

Qualification required:

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to agricultural economics and/or trade economics is required.
  2. Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in agricultural market analysis, policy analysis, and/or economic reporting.
  3. Level IV (fluent) in speaking/reading/writing both in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required.
  4. Must have professional understanding of Indonesia agricultural production and trade policy Solid knowledge of Indonesian agricultural production practices and the factors that affect production, supply and demand. A thorough knowledge of the mechanisms, constraints and practices with respect to market for various agricultural commodities in Indonesia and of opportunities for U.S. products in those markets.
